Artist Statement

There are three main interests that have influenced my work: travel, the pastoral landscape, and subjects close to home. The travel bug hit me in 1993 when I visited India. Throughout these years I didn’t seek a special place; they sought me out, from the familiar to the exotic. Whether it is on Clinton Road, Colorado or Kyrgyzstan, it’s the play of light that catches my eye. In creating art I’ve attempted to capture the essence of the ground I stand on wherever that may be.
